Chainsaws at the Ready!

Carrbridge Carver Jeff Buttress with his carving of Nessie, 2009

Many of the worlds’ top chainsaw carvers will, once again, descend upon Carrbridge this September to compete for the Claymore trophy in the ‘Carve Carrbridge’ chainsaw carving competition.

Last year saw USA carver Bob King narrowly beat Scottish favourite, and five time winner, Pete Browsher, with his impressive cougar carving. Bob is set to return this September to defend his title.

Carve Carrbridge takes place from 10.30am on Saturday 4th September 2010 on the village sports field.

The day includes music, the Strathspey pipe band, belly dancers, a range of fun activities, games, stalls, refreshments and a rescue demonstration by the local volunteer Fire Service. A 30 minute ‘quick carve’ follows the main event. Visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice carving and bid for the carvings at the end of event auction.
